John has 30 years’ experience in research, development, and extension in Australia and internationally, with expertise in rural sociology and food production systems in developing countries.
John joined AHR in early 2023 following 15 years of living overseas in the Philippines and then Fiji working on projects with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the Pacific Community (SPC).
He has also worked in Korea and spent considerable time in Japan utilising his fluency in Japanese to support grower tours. Previously in Australia, John held research and liaison roles with Horticulture Innovation Australia (formerly HAL) and AgriFutures Australia (formerly RIRDC).
